Where Telegram fits
Telegram is an outgoing notification channel. Incoming alerts still enter through routes, and the matched route decides which channels should receive the incident notification.
Delivery checklist
- The Telegram channel is enabled.
- The channel is attached to the matched route.
- The alert severity is allowed by
notify_on_severities, if configured. - Bot token and chat id are valid.
Common setup
Attach Telegram to high-priority production routes and keep lower-priority alerts in chat or email channels. This reduces notification fatigue while preserving actionable paging for urgent incidents.
